Hi, Can anybody help, I have a customer who is using COMPAC system pros as OS2 file servers and wishes to use DECmcc to manage them. Question: Do COMPAC supply an interface and if not do we know of any plans. Regards MARK Farrow-Smith

I know absolutely nothing about Compaq file servers. What *sort* of file serving APPLICATION are they running? Novell? LAN Manager? Pathworks? What sort of transport(s) are they using for the application? DECnet? TCP/IP? XNS? morse code? /doug | |||||

Doug, The customer is running a PATHWAORKS 4.0 network with Decnet as its transport, the reason why they are using COMPAQ systems pros as OS2 file server is one of performance. A typical user code have upto 50 files open at any one time. Digital products include ALL-IN-1 2.4 , VTX, VAXnotes, DDS , X400 all there PC run in terminal emulation mode. Regards Mark |
