When running a set of tests on wildcard alarm rules and using the Notification application, The notification application stopped receiving alarms and the following message appeared. [1] + Running mcc mojave> Connect Accept Failed in server RPC: File table overflow Socket failure: File table overflow Socket failure: File table overflow Socket failure: File table overflow Socket failure: File table overflow %Thread 347 terminating with exception: Exception: Invalid memory address (dce / thd) Connect Accept Failed in server RPC: File table overflow Connect Accept Failed in server RPC: File table overflow Running 1.2.7 on Ultrix 4.2a. I have not reproduced the problem. Any ideas.. - Mike

The file /sys/conf/mips/param.c has a parameter max_nofile. The installation guide suggests changing this from 64 to 256. Has that been done? If so, and you are using alarms heavily, you may want to try a larger value (we seem to use something like 800 or 1024). Note that you have to rebuild the kernel to make this take effect. -- Erik | |||||

Also you might post the output of a /etc/pstat -T command. |
