3132.0. "FCL error message, when enabling alarms" by SUBWAY::REILLY (Mike Reilly - New York Bank District) Thu Jun 04 1992 15:28
There seems to be a problem with the error message reported when an
attempt is made to enable an alarm rule in a non-existant domain.
eg:
MCC> enable mcc 0 alarm rule *, in domain .domain.wan_cisco
MCC 0 ALARMS RULE *
AT 1992-06-04-14:25:38.992
No such entity: MCC 0 ALARMS RULE *
Unknown Entity = MCC 0 ALARMS RULE *
MCC> enable mcc 0 alarm rule *, in domain .domain.cisco_wan
MCC 0 ALARMS RULE wan_cisco_cpu_peak
AT 1992-06-04-14:25:53.875
Normal operation has begun.
Domain wan_cisco does not exist, so I would have expected the error
message to state something like 'domain does not exist' rather than
Unknown Entity ...

3132.1 | no domain checking in alarms | TOOK::CALLANDER | MCC = My Constant Companion | Mon Jun 08 1992 16:49 | 6 |
| The alarms FM does no domain validation that is why the error
is misleading. I am sorry this one is not fixed in the V1.2
release. I will try to remember to get it in the release notes.
