Hello Jean-Mary,
Do a research with keyword "map".
You'll see a number of notes on the subject.
I am going to try the X11 bitmap format for a customer
(from DECpaint), within next days (hope I have time for that).
I know there are constraints, but I want to do it myself,
so whenever I have the response written for the customer, I can write
it here, despite the fact that it will be written in french (my
customer is french).

I have done a similar search and only found reference to the
MAP_FORMAT.PS file on node BSYBEE, which appears no longer available.
Can someone place a reference to the V1.2 version of this document
if it exists ?
