During an installation of 1.2.7 of MCC for ULTRIX, I see the below
message frequently.
Failure in kernel event receipt. Thread terminating
%MCC-E-EVT_POOL_INSRES, insufficient resources to create/access event pool
The system is ULTRIX 4.2, 48 meg memory, 100 meg swap space.
What does this error telling me? The end result is that the
installation fails everwhere.
Thanks for any help.

Have you reconfigured the ULTRIX kernel to have sufficient semaphore resources? What other major products do you have running on the system (Ingres? DECnet/OSI? Others?) -- Erik

I have only DECnsr running. No users. I did not reconfigure the
kernel. Is that resource in the config file or in some .h or .c
file?

Parameters in the config file, as well as two additional files must be modified. The release notes and install guide describe the process.
