3013.1text of dtk installation problem hereTAEC::WEBERMon May 18 1992 09:4125
(real text is here ...)

I noticed the following when installing DECmcc dtk X1.2.18
on a brand new Decstation 5200 (had never been installed with DECmcc).

      First ivp fails :
Can't open: /usr/lib/mips_libcmalib.a (No such file or directory)

I had no mips_libcmalib.a nowhere, so i copied one from another system,
      and ran the ivp again.

      Second ivp failed with error:
cpp: error /usr/include/mcc_interface_def.h:750:
Can't find include file dce/cma.h

I created the /usr/include/dce manually and everything went allright.
I noticed that only the second problem (dce) happened when installing my
customer who already had DEcmcc EFT 1.2.4. Seems that dce directory
is destroyed by de-installation of the toolkit.

I have kept the ivp log file and can mail them if you need.

For the SSB kit, we will no longer be shipping CMA files as part
of the toolkit. We are instead shipping a CMA subset, which must be
installed first. The toolkit has been adjusted accordingly.

X1.2.18 (an interim baselevel) presumably had an error in the toolkit.
However, the toolkit checked out in T1.2.7 (the EFT update baselevel),
and passes it's IVP in our current baselevel (I just checked).
