I haven't seen much here on future support of token-ring networks. Besides the support for our token ring boards, how about managing TR networks in general? Since this market segment seems to be growing rapidly, and since we want to be able to manage enterprises, What are the future plans? If there are issues here that need to be discussed in a PID, I'd be happy to get a pointer to the person/people responsible, or to get mail from them. As of now, when I'm asked about it by customers (and I'm asked) I don't have anything to say. Any help or opinions on the issue? Thanks,

3009.1 | Proteon Token View | DVOPAS::MILEHI::CASE | If it helps, it's NOTEworthy! | Wed Jun 03 1992 18:28 | 9 |
I was surprised to find information in DEC Direct (1992 SW edition, p. 45), and SPD's 37.01 and 38.47 available on-line about the Proteon TokenVIEW application. TokenVIEW Plus runs on a PC on the TR and can manage the TR environment independent of any other management stations; TokenVIEW SNMP Proxy Agent works in conjunction with an SNMP manager like DECmcc or MSU to provide for TR management thru SNMP. I haven't heard whether these are shipping yet, but we're selling them thru DECdirect, so they can't be too far off! |
