The "Total bytes sent" bridge line counter does't seem to include the "Device bytes sent" . Why do the algorithms of the performance analyser only take " Total bytes sent" into account when calculating the network utilisation. I supose that you should add also " Device bytes sent" Guido

>>The "Total bytes sent" bridge line counter does't seem to include the >>"Device bytes sent" . 'doen't seem' - I am interested to find out the facts which conveyed this impression. May be you didn't look at both lines together? The "Total bytes sent" over the line DOES include the "Device bytes sent", provided that the bridge generated frame has been sent over this particular line. I.e., a bridge (device) frame bytes would be counted in the total for the line over which the frame has been actually transmitted. I.e., these frames are also counted in the utilization for Enet on each line. Herman
2989.2 | FDDI line statisitcs not supported | QUIVER::HAROKOPUS | Mon May 18 1992 11:48 | 4
Bridge line statistics are only supported for ethernet lines. FDDI lines are NOT supported (i.e. line 1 on the DECbridge 5xx and 6xx). |
