Hi, I've just upgrade a customer from FT 1.2.4 to 1.2.7 (BL19 ?) on a DECStation 5000-200. They have also switched fro a local namespace to DNS as they are now running DECnet/OSI/ They need to register their own developed AM's entities, and fail when trying to register them. they have used dnscp and typed :- dnscp> create directory .MCC_HLR_BackTranslation where HLR is the entity name, but when trying to add an instance called TEST they get an unkown entity error Apologies for asking here as I'm sure it's in the manuals somewhere, unfortunately I haven't got them printed at the moment and this is time-critical ! Hope you can help, Thanks a lot Euan

2981.1 | check if you can use other MCC commands | TRM::KWAK | Tue May 12 1992 17:52 | 17
Please try the following commands to check if the DECmcc can use DECdns (please post the log in the reply): MCC> show mcc 0 all char MCC> dir domain .foo MCC> create domain .foo MCC> delete domain .foo MCC> show HLR test ! (??) PS. when you switch from Local MIR to DNS, make sure that you change /usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_login.csh script to set environmental variable MCC_DNS_SELECTION to DNS, stop all MCC processes, and re-start the MCC session.
2981.2 | DNS on iv/SNMP ent OK, enroll ? | FILTON::BARKER_E | Ummm... | Wed May 13 1992 04:37 | 6 |
I don't have the log as I'm off-site but I can use DNS as I've registered other SNMP,IV and OSI entities already. Could it be that I haven't done an enroll yet ? Euan |
