I am positive I have installed all the available patches for BMS V1.1, I have read loads of notes in this conference and nothing seems to point me in the right direction for what looks like a simple problem. When I RUN MCC_ALARMS_EXTRACT_RULES.EXE It creates the file MCC_ALARMS_RULES.COM without any problem. But when I come to EDIT the file it tells me that " Input file does not have standard text file format ".. Anybody know how I aviod this ?? Gary Lowe NUK CSC

The output file, MCC_ALARMS_RULES.COM, is created via the C RTL fprintf routine. I have had no problem editing the file. I typically use EVE (TPU) for editing. Did you get the file in to the editor Ok? If the file looks fine on the screen, there is probably nothing to worry about. /keith
2946.2 | don't worry. | TOOK::MCPHERSON | Life is hard. Play short. | Wed May 06 1992 23:04 | 5 |
Don't sweat the error message. Output from a few other utilities (maybe sort?) will cause thise message. You can still edit /type/etc the file w/no side effects. /doug
