2927.0. "Important Test for management module developers" by TOOK::A_MOORE () Mon May 04 1992 18:33
The most important test for AMs is that show commands do not leak.
Since they are used by Alarms, Graph, Export and Historian
continously. A small continously leak can bring down MCC.
A Access Module developers need to perform the following tests.
The basic AM test is monitoring a show command.
SHOW entity foo attribute, at every 00:00:30 until +04:00:00
By monitoring the memory consuption with
VMS Show process/cont/id=xxx
ULTRIX ps -v#pid
There are caches that grow to a limited size. The AES cache can be turned off
by: Define MCC_AES_CACHE_size 0 or Ultrix setenv MCC_AES_CACHE_size 0
If memory use is growing, FakeVM can be used to zero in on the leak once found.
Any Field Test sites see a leak code path that we have missed let us know.
