2919.0. "T1.2.7 and Wollongong WIN/TCP" by RADBOX::ANDERSON () Fri May 01 1992 17:32

I am trying to get Wollongong's WIN/TCP (V5.2.1) product to work with
version T1.2.7 of the DECmcc BMS. I can successfully link the win/tcp
library with the MCC_TCPIP_AM.EXE and MCC_TCPIP_SINK.EXE images, but when I
attempt to access an IP node in DECmcc I get the following error.

------ Look into entity SNMP pdxb Interfaces * -----------

Internet communications device error %system-f-ivchan
invalid I/O channel

When I try the test operation I get
Test unsuccessful: no answer from host

The wollongong library I am using is [netdist.lib]twglib.olb

All the wollongong applications work outside of DECmcc such as telnet,
ping, and ftp. If I relink with the UCX library every thing works fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have called Wollongong to log a
call with them, but I have not been much help to them other than being able
to describe the problem. They are not familiar with DECmcc and how it
interfaces with UCX, therefore they have not been able to determine the
problem. If any of you engineer types want to step in, the person at
Wollongong I am working with is Anu Bagal (415-962-7140) and the log
number is 30282.

2919.1QAR 2873TOOK::BURGESSSun May 03 1992 11:031
QAR 2863 entered.
2919.2What do you mean?RADBOX::ANDERSONMon May 04 1992 13:247
What is meant by .1? Is this problem a new QAR (2863), or is there an existing
QAR (2863) on this problem? If this is an existing QAR how can I get into the
QAR system to see if there is a resolution?

Thanks.

Bill Anderson
2919.3New QARTOOK::MINTZErik Mintz, DECmcc Development, dtn 226-5033Mon May 04 1992 14:238
It is a new QAR.

When one of the developers enters a note as a QAR, we leave in the
header, and the maintainers try to respond to the note when
the QAR is addressed (but sometimes we miss).

2919.4Any progress...RADBOX::ANDERSONFri May 08 1992 20:206
Has there been any progress or resolution to this issue?

Could you please let me know how to access the QAR system so that I can check on
the status of this QAR?

Thanks.
2919.5Maybe a fix....RADBOX::ANDERSONFri May 08 1992 20:415
I have just talked to one of the support people at Wollongong, and they said
that we need to link the wollongong object library after the VAXRTL. They said
they have seen problems when the order is reversed.

I will give this a try and report back here if it works.
2919.6TOOK::MINTZErik Mintz, DECmcc Development, dtn 226-5033Sat May 09 1992 19:483
You need to request a QAR system account if you want access to the
QAR system.  See note 1.

2919.7Update please...RADBOX::ANDERSONMon May 11 1992 13:003
Could someone give me an update on this QAR?

Thanks.
2919.8Nothing yetTOOK::MINTZErik Mintz, DECmcc Development, dtn 226-5033Mon May 11 1992 14:118
The actual QAR on this subject is # 2873, filed at priority 2,
against the TCP/IP access module component. However, there are
other problems affecting that component as well.

There is no answer yet for QAR 2873.

2919.9Report back on .5RADBOX::ANDERSONMon May 11 1992 18:523
I just wanted to report back on the suggestion given to me by Wollongong in
the .5 entry. Changing the order of the link modules had no effect on the
Wollongong stuff.
