Hello, I have the following questions to new features that are described in the release notes: a. In VT1.2.7 ( External Field Update ) release notes under the "software notes for management modules" section 4.1.1.1 Map Window point number 4 "Navigation Window" "Find- Works at subentity as well as global level" Exactly what does it mean by subentity level and what is the syntax in which to use this feature? b. In VT1.2.7 ( External Field Update ) release notes under the "software notes for management modules" section 4.1.1.1 Map Window point number 5 "Applications Menu" "Also allows the user to add their own applications to the menu" I can't seem to find the menu item or a customization option in which to add an application to the menu. Is the procedure documented anywhere? Thanks in advance, Julie Ann

> "Find- Works at subentity as well as global level" > >Exactly what does it mean by subentity level and what is the syntax in >which to use this feature? In v1.2 the find operation only worked if the contents of the map was a domain. Now it works for any level. (e.g., open domain foo, lookinto node4 xxx, find line xxx) >b. > > In VT1.2.7 ( External Field Update ) release notes under the >"software notes for management modules" section 4.1.1.1 Map Window point >number 5 "Applications Menu" > > "Also allows the user to add their own applications to the menu" > >I can't seem to find the menu item or a customization option in which >to add an application to the menu. Is the procedure documented anywhere? > It should be in the documentation. If it isn't I know it is in the current version. To add an application you exit mcc_resource.dat and 1. Update mcc_pml.applications: resource to include the text that is to go into the menu. 2. Add the resource mcc_pml.applications.<text entered above>.vms_command: <command to invoke> Use the FCL application in mcc_resource.dat as an example. /Jim | |||||

Hi Jim, Thanks for the quick answers. About the adding applications: You mean one has to actually edit the resourc.dat file. I guess from the new features description that there would be an option under applications or customize in the iconic map. Is this planned? Can it be added to the "V1.3" wish list? Julie Ann |
