2871.0. "SNMP Alarm with nondefault communityname" by ZUR01::SCHNEIDERR () Tue Apr 28 1992 10:57
We run DECmcc V1.1 with TCP/IP AM. If you have a SNMP node with communityname not
set to the default (public) then you have to choose by pass when you want to
access this node.
If you create an alarmrule you have to give the password (communityname) during
the enable of the alarm rule, for example:
MCC> enable mcc 0 alarm rule TEST, in domain ...., by pass xxxxxx
This doesn't work !!!!
We checked the packet that runs over the ethernet with the
analyzer and saw that independed eighter you give a password during enable the
alarmrule or not DECmcc sends always the default (public) with.
That happened by a customer.
Do we make a mistake, or is this an other bug? do somebody have experiance in
doing such SNMPrules?
Regards to all you MCCfreaks Roland
