2825.0. "EVT_POOL_VERSKE message when installing T1.2/VMS" by KETJE::PACCO () Wed Apr 22 1992 16:34
We encountered here the same error EVT_POOL_VERSKE as in note #2810,
although here are NO files in the specific directories.
The error prompts already at the MCC_STARTUP_BMS ENROLL, when the alarm
rule _dummy_test is being created:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The MCC_STARTUP_BMS startup procedure for DECmcc T1.2.7 is now
running.
DECmcc (T1.2.7)
%MCC-F-EVT_POOL_VERSKE, event pool version incompatible
%MCC-F-TRM_FAILURE, PM unable to continue
%DCL-W-SKPDAT, image data (records not beginning with "$") ignored
The MCC_STARTUP_BMS startup procedure for DECmcc T1.2.7 is now ending.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
From the FCL_PM, after entering the NOTIFY request, a similar error:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Unexpected condition returned to Notification FM.
Exception Encountered = Software logic error detected
MCC Routine Error = %MCC-F-EVT_POOL_VERSKE, event pool
version incompatible
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I also renamed all existing files to version 1, to avoid version
problems, and then reinstalled DECmcc T1.2, but no advance.
Which is (are) the files which can be the cause of this message ?
Regards,
Dominique.

2825.1 | Check for still-running DECmcc processes | TOOK::T_HUPPER | The rest, as they say, is history. | Thu Apr 23 1992 11:18 | 12 |
| RE .0:
No files are at fault here. The Event Pool is a temporary global
section, which says that there is still some DECmcc-related process
running on your system. It is holding an older version of the Event
Pool open, causing the version skew.
Prior to performing a DECmcc installation, ALL DECmcc-related processes
(check for sinks such as MCC_DNA4_EVL) must be stopped in order to
avoid this problem.
