| FCL "Forms" mode will not be in the final Ultrix V1.2 release. As to
whether or not it will *ever* be in the Ultrix version, I do not know.

| I have a partner software house asking again for the forms mode of the FCL.
They would like to use it as many operators will be working on PCs remotely
logged in on DECmcc ( using VT emulators ).
This functionality also appears to them as a good interim solutions waiting
for the distribution of DECmcc, and avoiding very costly X11 ditribution today.
I expressed them there was few ( no ) chances as the FCL on VMS used the SMG
routines not available on ULTRIX.
Could you confirm this or give me more detailed reasons ( is it a low priority
or non requirement from the rest of the world ? ).

This is correct. There are currently no plans to implement forms mode
in FCL for ULTRIX, because of the use of SMG. And you are correct in
guessing that there has been little interest expressed in this feature, so
it does not appear on the list of requirements.
If you believe that there is a business case for forms mode on ULTRIX,
send mail to Gail (DELNI::) Ferreira, to get this added to a future
requirements list.

| I've heard good things about the eXcursion product which allows PCs to
display X windows. It is a Digital product, I don't know how much it
costs...
