2761.0. "%system-f-stopdeverror" by LARVAE::AITKINS_T () Tue Apr 14 1992 14:15

    Hi All,
    	   I am about to hand over a DECmcc implementation to a large
    customer but I am still getting lots of exceptions, one is mentioned in
    an earlier note, the second most common is detailed below.

    The requested operation cannot be compleated,%mcc-f-stopdeverror,
    stop ethernet device failed,%system-f-nopriv, no privilege for
    		attempted operation.

    If I clear the alarm, it will get polled successfully for a few times
    and then fail again. Can anyone explain the message to me and or offer
    advice on how to resolve the problem. I'm running version 1.1 on a
    Vaxstation 3100 m76 with 32 MB of memory.

				Cheers

    						Terry.

What is the command (or what is the rule) that is causing this
exception?

What entity is being accessed?

If entity is BRIDGE, STATION, CONCENTRATOR, or FDDI, are LOG_IO and
PHY_IO privs enabled?
2761.2DECrouters being polledLARVAE::AITKINS_TTue Apr 21 1992 08:3111
    The rules being used are checking for the status of circuits on DEMSA's
    and DECrouter 150's and 250's. I am using an * so all lines on the
    routers get polled. The check is for a line "ON" "OFF" or substate
    "SYNCHRONIZING". Three alarm rules for each device. Some of the lines
    poll OK, but randomly it seems that one line on a device will generate the
    exception.

    			Thanks for any Help

2761.4error on transLansLARVAE::AITKINS_TMon Apr 27 1992 14:295
    Hi all,
    	   just to keep this note up todate, having visited the customer
    today this error appears to be occuring on Translan bridges and not
    DECrouters. I have not got the modle numbers, but will post them here
    when I do.

    there was a problem with translan bridge support. It has been
    supposedly found and fixed.

    Sorry for the delay in response, look towards next release to correct
    your problem.
