2753.1 | Bad-Penny Time again!!! | KERNEL::MACLEAN | Sandie Maclean,Networks & Comm.s,UK CSC | Mon May 11 1992 08:31 | 13 |

Hi,
This problem has re-appeared yet again,unfortunately this problem
is becoming more pressing as they have been told that MCC 1.2 will
not now be out as soon as they had previously been told by their
local Office....I am at a loss as to what we should be looking for.
Does anyone have any Ideas/Suggestions or is it SPR time ?!!!!!
Thanks in Advance ,
Sandie......./

2753.2 | Have you checked the Page File size? | TOOK::GUERTIN | It fall down, go boom | Tue May 12 1992 07:50 | 16 |
| Do you mean the customer has it up and running continuously for 2-3
weeks? If so, then that's pretty darn good. There were some memory
leaks with the V1.1 Iconic Map. There are some sites that actually
schedule restarting the iconic map so that this doesn't happen at an
inopportune time. If you mean they run the iconic map on and off and
roughly every 2-3 weeks you get alloc failures, then it is usually
because the page file size is too small. MCC requires a MINIMUM of
100000 blocks of page file just get the iconic map running. Check
the sysgen parameter VIRTUALPAGECNT, check the pgflquo process quota
of the account you are trying to run from. Finally, check the actual
size of the system page file, by issuing a show memory command. They
should all say 100000 or higher (I've seen a few workstations set up
with 200000 block page files just for running the iconic map).

| Thanks Matt !,
I'll let you know if we have any joy with the above amendments!
... Unfortunatley,The error being returned isn't 'particularly
helpful' in this case !! ...
