2724.0. "Ad Hoc Alarm/Event Reports" by MARVA1::MILES () Wed Apr 08 1992 15:20
Is there a way in DECmcc to do the following:
1. Generate "ad hoc" event reports and specify a desired
destination for the reports (i.e, file, printer, screen, user, etc.)
I read about the Notification Services but did not find any procedures
to do this type of reports.
2. Generate "ad hoc" alarm reports in the same manner as ststed in
#1.
By "ad hoc", I mean customizing reports based on specific criteria?
If there is documentation on this, please direct me.
Thanks for time and patience,
-Michelle

2724.1 | try the datacollector and new notif functions | TOOK::CALLANDER | MCC = My Constant Companion | Tue Apr 21 1992 11:35 | 16 |
| about the closest we come to for this is the data collector access
module.
The data collector allows you to have an application generate your
own MCC events. You can specify the target entity to turna color
on the map, the severity to be associated with the event, a short
event description, and a full event description. You can also specify
which mcc (on what node) that you want the event sent to.
Then from the iconic map interface you can turn on/off the notificaiton
logging functions. Please take a look at the latest kit (and the
notification and alarming use manual) to see what is there
now.l
