2692.0. "Problems adding Child entities to domain map" by RDGENG::PRATT () Mon Apr 06 1992 06:26
Running Ultrix T1.2.4
I have a domain map which includes 2 phaseV routers linked via an HDLC link.
What I wish to achieve is the line representing the link on the map to change
colour when an event occurs.
This is what I'm doing...
1) Click on Node icon
2) Click on Routing icon
3) Click on toolbox and select Circuit
4) I then fill in the box to specify my circuit name
5) Click on OK and move pointer to map
6) Click on MB2 Lookup until I'm back at my domain with the node icons
7) I then draw the circuit line between the 2 node icons
8) MCC thinks about it, and then gives me an error
'The entity Node LOCAL_NS:.reo.reotn4 Routing is not registered'
9) Click on Node icon
10) Select Routing icon and register it using the Operations menu
11) Registration successful
12) Repeat steps 1 to 8 above, and it fails with the same error.
I have also tried creating an HDLC Link xxx Child entity on my Domain map, using a
similiar process, but with this fails with the error...
'You are not authorized to perform this Directive'
Am I doing something fundamentally wrong, or is this a bug?
Ian Pratt
PS. I can successfully do a similiar operation with node4 circuits.

2692.1 | try latest kit | TOOK::FLETCHER | | Wed Apr 08 1992 11:08 | 9 |
| I have tried to mimic the behavior you described in the
latest kit. The only time I saw the behaviour you
described was when one of the parent entities above
the one you were attempting to add to the map was
not registered.
Please, try it again with the latest kit.
