| Information in the V1.1 namespace (stored in DECdns) will be available
to V1.2 systems (both VMS and ULTRIX). Alarm rules can be extracted
from the V1.1 system and re-loaded on a V1.2 system. However, there
is no general mechanism for "porting" other MIR information (for instance,
historical data).

| If you mean the "Instance Data" in the MIR, then there is expected to
be a tool available to extract it(with some limitations - currently
LINE SPEED is not extracted and partial registrations are not currently
handled well (though that is more of an X1.2 to V1.2 issue)).
A testable version for VMS is located on
NETS::USER$NETS:[MCC011.S-KIT]MCC_DUMP_DNS.COM
Feedback is as always, welcome.

| RE: .1
It has been pointed out to me that .1 was not completely thought out.
There is some system specific information in the alarms MIR (e.g.
procedure names with directory specs) that will not port directly
to ULTRIX.
It's best left that migrating data from VMS to ULTRIX is not yet tested.
