We have the problem described below: Platform: DECstation 5000/200 (Host name:Pruno), Ultrix 4.2, DECmccBMST124 We are running with local MIR. *Operation (IMPM and FCL): Create rule case 1: Entity SNMP mcc.ip.nutria Operation result:> Software logic error detected > MCC routine error: %MCC-E-NORECORD, specified entity > definition record does not exist case 2: Entity SNMP nutria Operation result with no errors but the created rule can not be read or deleted. Consecuently when rules are created it looks like they are corrupted into the MIR. For instance : *Operation (FCL): delete domain .... rule .... Operation result: >Data base error while reading rule information. >MIR status= %MCC-E-NORECORD, specified entity >definition record does not exist. *Operation (FCL): show domain .... rule .... Operation result as previous one. *Operation (IMPM): delete domain ... rule .... Operation result with no messages: Session is hunged for some time, then iconic_map windows stop, and mcc_alarms_fm remains running (needs a kill -9 to dead). Any idea would be appreciated. Juan Miguel

This sounds like a MIR file has become corrupt. Have you created rules before? Did anything odd happen before this problem started? -- Erik | |||||

Yes, it looks a MIR corrupted. Nothing happend before creating rules, ..... but a hung of DECmcc could cause the problem, so we deinstalled product and deleted all files and directories related to mcc, then we reinstalled all and cheked MIR was empty. Even so the problem is there! Does anyone used SNMP Alarms and worked fine ? -- Miguel Angel |
