Are these counter attributes part of a table ? And if so, is the
table index a constructed type ? I believe the exporter had some
restrictions on exporting attributes whose data type was constructed.
I don't know if those restrictions still apply.
>> Is this problem related to the xyplex MIB.?
If you can do succesful show operations on these counter attributes,
then the chances are that the problem is not with xyplex's mib or
its agent.

TO FURTHER CLARIFY, I DO NOT EVEN GET A PULL DOWN MENU FOR RECORDING OR
EXPORTING FUNCTIONS FOR THE XYPLEX. I AM UNAWARE OF ANY TABLE OR DEFINITIONS
BUT I WILL LOOK. IT SEEMS WHEN YOU DEFINE AN SNMP STATION, YOUR CHOICES
FOR WHAT YOU CAN DO ARE LIMITED.

What version of DECmcc are you running? In V1.1 the directives for
exporting and recording are not automatically added to each entity.
If you are running V1.1, you will need to augment the dictionary
by following the procedure outlined in the release notes.

I am running V1.1. I am getting a copy of the release notes to read.
A colleague who has access to the notes indicated there is a section about
snmp and the historian/exporter.
Thanks for the response.

In order to help others I wanted to add this note:
The instructions in the DECmcc release notes for V1.1 worked well. I
had tried the instructions in the SNMP access module release notes.
These did not work for a the xyplex vendor and each child entity name.
In the snmp release notes, it indicates to customize augment command files
based on the vendor and chold entity names. I got error messages twice and did
not proceed any further. The standard command files that
came with MCC worked fine to augment the dictionary and update the parse table.
Also as you will see later in a future note, although I can export, I now cannot
tell for what device the exported snmp data is related.
