I have a customer who is using ACS4100's and ACS4400's to link to
remote sites. I am not familiar with these devices, but they have
similiar functionality to the Vitalink bridges. I saw the users guide
the other day and realized that these ACS boxes have some SNMP
functionality.
I'm thinking about putting the SNMP module out there to see what I can
do with it.
Has anyone had any experience with these and the SNMP module? Is
anyone aware of any MIB definitions for the ACS bridges?
Thanks,
Rick

I had a brief encounter with the acs routers and mcc v1.1 a while back. I did the first part of an installation and then someone else took over. Here are some things I ran into. 1) The customer recieved a new mib from acs in February. I had to make a couple of corrections to it to get it to load. After that I found out that it was not in concise format and therefore I did not get return information for most queries. 2) The acs mib is large. Too large for the standard mcc mib compiler to handle. Somewhere in this notes file there is a note about a "yacc stack overflow" error. The person that responded to the note was able to get a new mib compiler to me which corrected the problem. 3) If you plan to do any exporting or recording for the acs information then it will be necessary to augment. See the snmp am release notes for further info. Hope this gets you started. Give me a call or send mail if you need more info. Scott manfrd::keane dtn 523-2082 | |||||
