2597.0. "How to change udp_retries from IMPM, ultrix" by HOO78C::TURHAN () Fri Mar 20 1992 09:10

I need to demonstrate DECmcc ultrix that we can manage
cisco equipment. The box sits at a remote location and I need to modify
udp_retries from the iconic map, where it is not possible to click into
mcc entity. Also the release notes says not to try to click into mcc
    entity.

Is there a work around for for this ?

    Thanks in advance,

The udp retries attribute is associated with the TCPIP_AM child entity.

If you can't access the child (i.e. if you can't "open" MCC 0) then
you can't change the value of the attribute.

What version of DECmcc are you running? DECmcc T1.2.4 (the EFT version)
works fine RE: access to the TCPIP_AM entity (you just can't drop the
TCPIP_AM entity onto the map)...

I am using v1.2.4. If I want to add an mcc entity to a map, it is
possible to add. But not possible to click into it. If you try that,
    then the process hangs.

I am running it on a decstation 5000/200 under ultrix 4.2

Tankut,

There are two ways to accomplish what you are trying to do.

1. Login to another session on your ultrix system under the same user id
that you're running the map. Use FCL to set mcc 0 tcpip_am udp
   timeout/retries.

2. Launch FCL from the applications pulldown menu from the map and
   set mcc 0 tcpip_am udp timeout/retries.

Because multiple users share a single tcpip_am process on ultrix,
values set from one user session apply to the other session.
