2588.0. "mcc-e-unsupp_op" by LARVAE::AITKINS_T () Wed Mar 18 1992 08:26
Hi,
I have a customer who is trying to fire up two iconic maps from one
DECmcc workstation. It is VMS V5.4 DECmcc version 1.1. All alarms are
enabled in a batch file and the first Iconic map run and directed to
another workstation from an account called MCC$user. When the customer
tries to start a second Iconic map on his workstation he gets lots of
map windows with the following message.
MAP WINDOW MESSAGE: notification being stopped for domain "domain name'
% MCC-E-UNSUPP_OP, Unsupported operation.
One the DECterm where he started the map he gets :-
% system-F-accvio, access violation, reason mask=00, virtual
address=0000000C, PC=000f0d80,psl=03c00004
I got him to disable notification as the default , but as soon as you
switch it on you get the same results.
Any clues or sugesstions.
Terry.

2588.1 | is it unsupported or an error | LARVAE::AITKINS_T | | Mon Mar 23 1992 15:08 | 7 |
| Hello Again,
can someone please clarify for me if starting two maps from
one DECmcc workstation is really unsupported. My customer sees being
able to view DECmcc from another workstation as a big advantage over
other management platforms.

2588.2 | sounds like quota problem, please verify environment | TOOK::CALLANDER | MCC = My Constant Companion | Mon Mar 23 1992 16:07 | 11 |
| it should be supported. The main thing I would question is
if this is a workstation is the workstation capable (quote speaking)
of handling the batch job running alarms, and two other sessions
running the iconic map?
Take for example the pagefilequota for each of the three processes;
now add them up; what is your total? versus, what is the system total
(sho mem and how much is there)?
