Hi there, I am preparing to bring up X1.2.15 into full production to see how well this kit takes abuse. What would be helpful for me is to know what the final ALARMS wildcard scheme will support for polling rules. For example, the following OCCURS rule is successful: (occurs(node4 * circuit syn-* circuit down circuit fault)) But the following poll rule is not: (node4 * circuit syn-* substate <> none) One cannot at this time wildcard the node4 entity. Is it in the works to support the above syntax for SSB or is this going to stay as is??? FWIW, supporting the above syntax is a MAJOR gain for users maintaining alarms thru changes in the network. thanks for any info, brad...

The first syntax works because getevent global wildcards are supported by the AMs. The second case requires that the global wildcard be enumerated by the alarms FM itself. Support for the latter is planned for the SSB version of MCC, with some restrictions. | |||||
