Recently I installed the 1.2.4 Ultrix version. I have some problems starting this up correctly. During the installation of the base system I do get the following error (According to the release notes, it can be savely ignored, page 3-4) in the Domain FM: internal error: cma__open_general: unexpected fstat error mcc_enet_am thread exeption, internal error detected in thread library. But until this point things work fine. I was able to retrieve the Objects and MAPS from our previous VMS MCC 1.1 version (excluding bridges, terminal server and vitalink info). Afterwards I installed the ELM module. Installation went fine (it took approx 1.5 hour on my DECstation 3100). I see the following problem when I want to open a domain in the iconic map. When I tried to filter domains I get the following message: MCC pop-up window: Error in full name value (default *, which worked before produces this message now) The second time I start up MCC and issue a filter command I see the following messages: MCC pop-up window: target management module thread has aborted DECTERM message: Exeption in mgt module (id=7), CMA code = 40802c If I do not leave mcc and issue the filter a second time it seems to hang. I deleted all MCC savesets and started all over again. As soon as the access module is installed, then things do not work properly in the iconic map. If however I start up the FCL interface or issue the command manage, I am able to list all domains by using the command: SHOW DOMAIN * ALL IDENT. My configuration: DECSTATION 3100. Ultrix 4.2A DECnet/OSI 5.1.1 DECMCC T1.2.4 ELM 1.2.0 DNS on node nmgmcc contains our MCC database. Could it be I am missing an ULTRIX subset. the two mentioned in the release notes are installed. UDTINET420 UDTINTLRT420 Did someone else experience this behavior? A colleque installed the same ELM saveset on his ultrix station and this works fine (he is using a local MIR though and installed ALL ultrix savesets.). It is a very consequent and consistent error. Could anyone give me a hint where to look for? regards, Edward.

I have entered this as a QAR against system, since the symptoms seem general (although triggered by the ELM installation). > in the Domain FM: > internal error: cma__open_general: unexpected fstat error > mcc_enet_am thread exeption, internal error detected in thread > library. Yes, this is of no consequence, and you can ignore it. > Could it be I am missing an ULTRIX subset. the two mentioned in > the release notes are installed. UDTINET420 > UDTINTLRT420 Unless the ELM installation requires something special, this problem is unlikely to be caused by missing subsets. However, someone may contact you for the full output of "setld -i" on your system.
2527.2 | I had this problem too | ANDRIS::putnins | Hands across the Baltics | Wed Mar 11 1992 10:40 | 5 |
See note 2345.5 and .9-.12. Go back to the IMPM from the DECmcc kit, instead of using the IMPM from the ELMS kit. Eric - thanks for entering the QAR. I thought someone was already looking at his problem. - Andy
