Hi Has anybody heard anything about what SALCOM has regarding NETWORK/ENTERPRISE-MANAGEMENT? The background is that we've got a RFP from a customer here in Sweden who want a newtworkmanagement system. We are ofcourse offering DECmcc. We have been told that they have got an offer from SALCOM at about 1/2 the price and SALCOM says that they can integrate new entities within 3 (THREE!) days..... Now, I don't beleive this, but the customer does.... They want to manage 3COM terminal servers (among other things), and since we don't have (to my knowledge) any AMs for 3COM terminal servers, I've offered them to help them out in writing one. Does anyone know if there has been any work done with SALCOM terminal servers? Thanks, Nils

I don't know who SALCOM is. If they limit their integration to SNMP
devices only, then their claim may be justified. However, if they
go beyond SNMP and MIB extensions, I seriously doubt their claim.
