Have you tried using a dummy file name as the load file specification? As it
says in note 785.1, you should be allowed to register the server this way.
If that does not work, you could try creating a file of the same name (not
the real load file) on the MCC host so that the registration would be
allowed even though the image file is not there.
Of course, the absence of an image file means that you cannot do any
modifications to the server's permanent database from MCC. So you would
only want to set up a DS500 without a load file on the MCC host if you
are planning to do nothing but operational sets and monitoring, right?

| If you have DECmcc V1.1, then there is NO version of the TSAM available
for use on customer systems. It is not an announced product at this
time.
