If the answer to this question is no, is there any way to at least get
autoconfig to not put LOCAL_NS: on each node???
Thanks!

Hi,

This behavior of autoconfig will change for SSB version.
We will be copying the files to the area pointed to by the
variable MCC_MAPS. (Its logical on VMS and Environmental
variable on UX).
This way when you open the domain you will always see it
connected.

Not to worry! The default behavior of MCC will be that
the DECNET name will be displayed as against the full name.
The functionality is working in the current base level that
I am running.
