Hello, I am using DECmcc T1.2.5 Could someone tell me if the following behaviour is correct or incorrect as nothing exists in the documentation on this point : I am using the Notification PM from the application menu . When I execute the Customize General Notification, I get up the window. Then, I click on the Bottom Row Button. When I execute Apply or OK, nothing happens. However, when I close the window and take it up again, it appears as expected. As an APPLY button exist in this window (with the OK button) I would think this modification could be applied dynamically ? Best regards Catherine

2422.1 | Bottom Row Buttons not implemented in EFT kit | TOOK::CALLANDER | MCC = My Constant Companion | Wed Feb 26 1992 08:15 | 18 |
Hi Catherine, Sorry about some of that confusion. Anything not documented in the EFT book, isn't done yet. That function is now complete and when the update goes out you will have it. What the buttom row buttons function does, is it removes the buttons from the bottom of the notification window. This gives you more on screen realestate for displaying notifications without having to increase the size of the window. Any function in a button is also in the pull-down menus. jill (BTW: there are also a number of other features in the notification update; take a look when you get it and let us know what you think.)
2422.2 | STATIC or DYNAMIC ?? | TAEC::HAYES | Tu quoque mi fili ! C.Hayes SVP @VBE | Wed Feb 26 1992 12:08 | 36 |
Hi Jill, "What the buttom row buttons function does, is it removes the buttons from the bottom of the notification window." My concern is : Should it remove the buttons DYNAMICALLY, i.e on the already active window (refreshed) without having to restart the Notification PM (and in this case this is not the observed behaviour). or Does it remove those buttons STATICALLY i.e next time I start the notification PM, the buttons will be removed as it seems to react now ? I understand this is a minor detail point but my customer thinks this is confusing, if the mofification is STATIC, he thinks the button APPLY should not be in the window but only the OK button. I explained him the same sort of behaviour is used for other customize operations, but... Thanks for your help Catherine
2422.3 | thanks for the feedback | TOOK::CALLANDER | MCC = My Constant Companion | Tue Mar 31 1992 16:16 | 4 |
thanks for the input, it does is statically. You are modifying the customization of the window for the next restart. We will put this item on the list to be corrected. |
