I tried accessing some DS700's from a T1.2.4 system with the TSAM. I'm also running DECnet/OSI (WAVE II). I assume that the TSAM is essentially doing an NCP CONNECT VIA command? The error is "No useable service circuits". I assume this is because my host VAX does not have a Phase IV circuit? How will TSAM address terminal servers from Phase V nodes or will we wait until CMIP is implemented in the server? Any info appreciated. Al

TSAM only works with DECnet phase IV at this point. I don't remember the specifics, but if you are running bleeding edge field test VMS (5.5-1?) something we are layered on is broke still. Although we don't directly do an NCP CONNECT VIA, whatever that is layered on is broken, and we are layered on top of TSM which is dependant on that. -Dave | |||||

I'm using V5.5 released VMS. This is probably not a big issue now, but will be and it sounds as though it will require coordination between two if not three different groups.... The TSAM group to move to or include CMIP support, the Terminal Server group to do the same and I'm assuming the folks that write the host based routines for terminal server access. Anyone care to venture a time schedule on any of this? Al |
