Hello,

I have noticed that sometimes the exporter works properly (number
of successfull pools increase) sometimes it does not.

Attached you will find the log files (capture) of 3 MCC sessions
where I made different attempts, trying to identify
the reason of that behaviour.

Especially, I have pointed 1 lines in each of the 3 sessions, 
repeated just here below, that looks like identical: the first one work
one "works", the other do not.

I really do not understand that behaviour and I would appreciate
if you could gave me an explanation.

    I suspect that the problem with 2 and 3 is the export period.
    My guess is that it is taking longer than the 2 minutes alocated
    to complete the export (including the Statistics Partition) and
    therefore you are getting something like Scheduled Time Already Passed
    errors.
    
    I would either increase the period a bit, or set the duration for
    the statistics shorter.

   But if for some of the reasons the background process can not make a
   successful poll to get data it will be indicated in "Number of failed polls"
   in Show Exporting directive.

	I think that the reason for the behavior described in .0 is that the 
   background process died between #1 and #2.

	In V1.1 the user is not notified in the case when the background process 
   is not running. In V1.2 in such situation Export operation returns an 
   exception and also Show Exporting tells if background is stopped.

	It's possible that this command forced the background to die.
   If you compare "Begin time" = 13:22 and time stamp returned = 13-FEB-1992 
   13:22:07 you will see that this is actually a Past Time Exporting request.
   A returned time stamp is a time when Exporter FM receives this request.
   As you know in V1.1 it does not work in V1.1.

    Thank you for your guess... I do not think that the period is the problem.
    In fact, the log files I inserted in the conference were trials
    I made tempting to understand what I was doing wrong: I have had
    exactly the same problem form the iconic map with an exporting
    period of half an hour.
    
    I had myself thought about a possibility: by default, the statistics
    are computed for a duration of 5 minutes. I had thought that if
    the exporting beginning time was less than 5 minutes in the future
    from the time at which the export directive is issued, it could have
    been the cause of the problem. But this explanation is contradicted
    by the first case...
    
    
    Any other idea is welcome.

    By the way, thank you for your explanation of the message

    Note that despite that error message (%EXPORT-F-INVDBCTX in the first
    captured output), the exporting actually started (or at least was 
    active). I noticed that in a MCC session (between session 1 and 2)
    that, unfortunately, I did not captured. In fact, I exited the first
    MCC session to check that the backgound process was still running.
