    Hi,
    
    Context : DECmcc T1.2.4 on Ultrix.
    
    I'm running into some problems with the notification FM. When I enroll
    it, I get the following message :
    
    Waiting - Notification FM has not completed startup 
    
    This message repeats itself about 6 times, after which it says
    something about failing, but nevermind, it will try again next time a
    request is dispatched to it. Of course, the same problem occurs if I
    issue a Notify request.
    
    I have checked all file priorities and system parameters, all seem to
    be ok. 
    
    I also get a message about failing to transmit a packet.
    
    Strange coincidence : these problems seem to have started happening
    since the station moved to DECnet Phase V.... Is anyone else running
    DECmcc on a DECnet V Ultrix system ? 
    
    Are there any kernel parameters which need to be updated when running
    both DECnet/OSI *and* DECmcc ?
    
    This problem is considered as "blocking" by the customer as he cannot
    use notification services, so we need a quick solution, so any help
    will be appreciated.

	Manuel was talking to me about something that sounds very similar a couple of weeks ago, but I never heard what the final outcome in his situation was. His customer was running phase V too. I've asked him to contribute to this note if he has any additional information. Is there a core (dump) file produced by the notif FM? Try running the notif FM with its logbits enabled to see if it can tell us what's happening setenv MCC_NOTIFICATION_FM_LOG 0xffff /usr/mcc/mmexe/mcc_notification_fm 11 Y ^ ^ \| \|- re-enroll (Y) or not (N) \|- the usual Notif FM enroll ID... could be different

	I was involved at the beginning of this problem: I received a call from Jacques Tayar ( a colleague of Philippe) but I was not able to follow this problem and because Jacques was at the customer site, he started to work directly with Pete Ditmars. I haven't received any update from Jacques Philippe, you can contact me if needed. Manuel.

	Hi, Strangely enough I've got EXACTLY the same problem running DECmcc V T1.2.4 with DECnet Phase IV! If I try to enroll it using "MCC>enroll mcc_notification_fm" it says: %MCC-I-ENRDUPLENTRY, enrollment successful; followed by: Waiting: MM mcc_notification_fm has not completed startup MCC> cheers -Denis

So long as there were no other messages, the enrollment completed without error.
