I have been trying to use the reports package for a while (finally with
some success). It took me a while to realize that 1) I had to give the
decnet address (2) I had to record the line "char" and (3) to set the
line speed. Now some things work, but the hourly circuit reporting
still fails with
%SYSTEM-F-FILNOTACC, file not accessed on channel
error message in the log file. This message is returned in response to
the
$graph/load/nointer ...blah command in the com file. I didn't find any
references to this message in this notes file. Any suggestions would be
appreaciated.
Also, the line reports (on a DR2000) have strange peak times. All the 4
serial lines had peak traffic at the same time (coincidentally, this
was the ending time for my "export"). This sounds like a bug. Any
ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

| 2315.3 | Still a problem | NYFDIN::SAMBAMURTY | Raja | Thu Feb 13 1992 12:00 | 21 |
Anwar,
I will look this up. These reports are generated using
MCC_REPORTS_FILES:MCC_RPTS command file. I still think the peak times that
the report generates are suspect (not to mention inconsistent). As an
example, here is an excerpt from the generated report for a DR2000:
Peak times line
11-feb-1992 17:00 syn-0
11-feb-1992 17:00 syn-1
13-feb-1992 syn-2 =====>> notice that the time is not printed
12-feb-1992 10:00 syn-3
The circuit graph reports have unprintable characters for dates/times.
And the exporter when started uses up 100% of the cpu (this is a 3100),
so for a network with a dozen DR2000's, export tends to be a
performance issue (I hope this improves by SSB).
