Hello, Is it possible with the new DECmcc-Netview Connection SW to route DECnet events and TCP/IP traps to IBM's Netview? A customer here in Switzerland would like to do that. Thanks Roland

The answer is yes. The DECmcc-Netview Connection SW will collect and forward notification events and configuration events to IBM's Netview and NetMaster. The mechanism used is the outbound stream which is a child of the sna_agent. Each outbound stream has an configuration event filter, a list of rules for notification events, a DECmcc domain, and a destination SNA node. Users can build filters for entities and events that will PASS, BLOCK, or IGNORE the occurrence of configuration events. PASSed events will be forwarded to requesters destination. In addition, the outbound stream has lists of rules. Notification events on rules that exist in the rule list will also be forwarded. | |||||

We have a Customer here in San Antonio who would like to use this software too. But we can't seem to find anything on it in the price books or even an SPD under the VTX system. Would you please give a pointer as to where this info can be found. Thanks in advance, Henry |
