2241.0. "QUESTION - Decnet phase IV AM" by BIS1::COLLEYE () Fri Jan 31 1992 08:58

Greetings,

Exploring the DECmcc DECnet phase IV AM, I cannot
explain to myself a command I could issue.

The attached log file shows the experiment I made.

I would be very gratefull if somebody could
examine the log file and provide me with an
explanation.

In advance, many thanks.

Maurice.

>$ mana/enter dire node4 brsis5

This is checking to see if brsis5 is registered as a node4.
It is not, so you get the "Unknown Entity" error.

>$ mana/enter show Node4 BRSIS5  all counters

The show command does not use the registration database unless you
use a wildcard. So this command is going to your local ncp database
to find an address, and issuing the show to BRSIS5 through NML,
the same way that NCP would do it.
