| With regard to the software update problem, I spoke to the Regional
Sales Manager for Northern Europe yesterdy about this very subject.
They understand that this could well be a problem and are working with
DIGITAL very closely to resolve this issue. His gut feel was that an
update license would be offered to our customers (by us) on purchase of
the equipment. CHIPCOM would furnish us with the updates and based on
these licenses distribute it to our customers.
Sounded good to me, but the details have still to be worked.

Why would you need v2.0, the latest version is v2.1 ?
If you need it you'll have to order it from Chipcom or via our
logistics organisation. The firmware is licensed.
The p/n's are:
- 5000-FDK which contains the Procomm software to download
the microcode
- 5100M-UDK-2.10 which contains the actual firmware for the flash
eeprom's on the EMM module.

| Hello happy SMART_HUB fanatics,
Please read carefully my very first question, I am asking about the
BRIDGE MODULE 5102B-EE (firmware version v2.0)
The SNMP_AM v1.1 contains only the Private MIB for the
Management Card 5100M-MGT (firmware version v2.1 also called EMM v2.1).
There is no description file for the Bridge Card in the SNMP_AM kit.
The previous answers are mismatch between the 2 cards and 2 problems....

The Current Online agent is 2.1 as mentioned above, Chipcom has
a Betta release available now, that requires their new MIB as well.
So when it's released product it will 3.0, so Please note:
the current Mib works with agent 2.1 or below, the new MIB I will
post later on it works only with the 3.0 release. The 3.0 Betta
release will be available in one week, so if anyone is interested
in being a field test site please let me know, I will make the
software available to you. for the 1.2 kit I think we will have both
mibs I will keep you posted. I have to double check with the product
manager and Engineering.

We don't understand really your answer...
For the moment, on our CHIPcom Hub we have TWO (2) SNMP AGENTS (or more)
- the first one for the Management Card 5100M-MGT
(with the PRIVATE MIB from SNMP_AM V1.1)
- the second one for the Bridge Card 5102B-EE
(without Private MIB.)
Your answer is speaking about a new firmware (v3).
- Does'it mean that with the firmware (V3), the Chipcom Hub will
represent only ONE SNMP AGENT ??
This is very interesting and much more understandable from
customer point of view.
- Does'it also mean that our new Bridge Card firmware is only a
transient solution ??
In this case we have to explain to our customer not
to invest in DECmcc Rules, Procedures, etc on this card.
- What are our intention for V3 firmware delivery ??
* What are our intentions for the customer update procedure ??
* Will the customer have to pay for the update or is the update procedure
like a FCO ??

The V3 software is in alpha release right now it will be shipping around
june time frame. The V3 release is only for the Online Conecentrator not
for the bridge.

The Bridge latest release is 2.0, the previous release was 1.3. The major
differences between 1.3 and 2.0 are the followings:
o mgmt lockup function prevention during heavy loads.
o Spanning trees protocol by filter based on valid 16 bit protocol type.
o Fix all identied bugs.

Chipcom will be shipping v3 firmware around june time frame.

Bridge Single site service $290 $350

These are Chipcom prices not sure about Digital prices.

| I need to know if there is any plan from CHIPcom to implement any AM OR
FM into DECmcc. It will be nice to have the name of the Interface (UTP
or FIB) instead of interface 1 to 272 for the ONline concentrator.
Any help will be appreciate
