| Keep in mind that DECmcc "V1.2" isn't there yet either. The current
version for use on Digital sites or Field Test sites is "T1.2.4".

2196.3 | A V1.2 demo is coming... | BSYBEE::EGOLF | John C. Egolf LKG2-2/T02 x226-7874 | Tue Feb 04 1992 20:57 | 8 |
| I'm upgrading the V1.1 demo for V1.2. I hope to have something
ready within a week and will post here in the notes file. At
some later date we'll setup a real dyno-mite demo for the
people in the field to really wow the customers.
Stay tuned...

2196.5 | Problem in starting the DEMO | USWRSL::LIOU_PE | | Tue Mar 10 1992 16:53 | 13 |
|
After installing the DECMCC_V12_DEMO as mentioned in
the preious note. I got an "access violation" error
message when trying to start DECMCC by entering
"MANAGE/ENTERPRISE/INTER=DECW".
Is there an installation guide for this demo package
available? I know it has to be something very simply
that I over looked. Thanks.
I did check the DEMO account, its priviledge, and its
file protection, etc.

2196.6 | is the demo working? | TOOK::CALLANDER | MCC = My Constant Companion | Tue Mar 10 1992 17:13 | 4 |

did you get the demo working or not?
|
2196.7 | No. DEMO is not working yet | USWRSL::LIOU_PE | | Tue Mar 10 1992 19:39 | 7 |
| No, this demo is not working yet, and I need to have it
set up for a Accounts Group wide presentation/demonstration
for next Thursday (March 19).
Don't know what the quota should be for the DEMO account,
and this is why I was asking for a installation guide of
some kind. Thanks.

2196.8 | any more accvio data? | TOOK::MCPHERSON | Save a tree: kill an ISO working group. | Tue Mar 10 1992 20:45 | 13 |

What is the exact text around the ACCVIO ? Believe it or not, system error
messages do sometimes yield meaningful clues... ;^) (At least on VMS...:-) )
This is probably a silly thing to check, but what does the logical DECW$DISPLAY
say? I.e. has a DECwindows display been properly allocated for the IMPM e.g.
by a SET DISPLAY/CREATE command ?

2196.9 | Thanks... | DPDMAI::JONESDS | | Wed Mar 11 1992 19:50 | 20 |
| I successfully loaded and ran the demo on a VS3100/76 using local
namespace and 1.2.15. Since the bridge am isn't there by default
anymore (and the best I can tell not available at all at this moment
for 1.2.15) I might suggest taking Mybridge out. Although I really
liked the look of the black background, I changed the resource file
to gray so the graphs foreground would show up (when the graph color
mentioned in 2350 supports foreground this shouldn't be necessary).
Somehow I got things confused, don't know if it was loading the 1.1
ELMS AM or all the stop/ids I 'had' to do, but it got to where I
could only run a few minutes before I ran out of virtual address space
and things would lock up. Also at this time I found I couldn't get
SNMP statistics at all, only access violations and reserved operand
faults on the threads that (I guess) were running the graph/statistic
'process' (there was a 1-1 correlation of the number of graph items to
the munber of dying threads). I have just re-installed every thing
and it seems to be fine again.
all this by way of saying "Thanks, this demo is a Great bootstrap"
