Perhaps if you give us some context; which version of MCC, which
operating system, and what operation were they attempting?

	The customer site has....

		VMS V5.3
		DECmcc BMS V1.1
		DECmcc TCP/IP AM V1.1

	The error occurs on any SHOW command upon any entitiy (SNMP or NODE4)
	when called upon from the iconic map.

	The hardware is a VS3100 M30 with 24Mb memory. No other applications
	beyond VMS, DECwindows, DECnet, UCX & DECmcc

2188.4A Correction ;-) UIST::JONESRjust to let you know ...Tue Jan 28 1992 11:2922
Hello,

	re: .2

	I was involved with Rex at this site - and I just 'phoned the customer

	Apparently they have VMS V5.4-1 (not 5.3 as stated in .2).

	They tell me DECmcc is still "crashing" (but I don't know whether
	it's the same problem)

	Before we left the site, Rex applied the patch MCCTCPIP_A011.A
	(at least I *THINK* it was that patch) and this seemed to cure
	the "Bad Block" problem.

	They were having trouble with the iconic map window "disappearing"
	and I suspect that this may be the problem they are still experiencing.

	Any further suggestions ?? (Could it be because they only have 24MB ?)

2188.5could you please clarify?TOOK::CALLANDERMCC = My Constant CompanionFri Jan 31 1992 10:348
    could you please clarify what they are doing when it disappears.
    The exact sequence of events would drastically help our
    efforts to determine what the problem might be. Also are you
    having any problems from the FCL. Also if you could help
    characterize the problem that would be useful as well, does
    the sequence alwayrs cause the problem, sometimes...?

2188.6DECwindows bug I thinkTOOK::R_SPENCENets don't fail me now...Mon Feb 03 1992 10:1613
    Actually, V1.1 of DECmcc works fine (Iconic map and all) with VMS V5.3
    as per the SPD/SAA.

    However, this problem is related to DECwindows I think. I have seen
    it at another customer site and a call to CSC in colorado with a clear
    description of the problem (DECwidows are disapearing - NOT DECmcc
    problem) will get to the windows support folks and they can give you
    a DECwindows patch for it (I think).

    Oh, 24mb is ok for use although performance may be better in a
    production environment with more memory.
