Hi there, I'm running DECmcc-BMS v1.1 When using the historian I'm having the following behaviour: I record Entity data say every hour with a keep age of 2 days. All goes well but the MIR files keep growing after the 2 days I supplied with the record command. In fact the never stop growing! How can I record data without getting bigger and bigger MIR files for the specified domain,so I don't have to stop recording, throw the MIR files away, and start over again? Carlo.

From release notes: 3. The PURGE function To reclaim the purged space in the repository files, the repositories must be compressed using the following DCL command procedure that takes the file name of the repository and produces a compressed version of the file: $ ANALYZE/RMS/FDL/OUTPUT=PURGE.FDL 'p1' $ EDIT/FDL/NOINTERACT/ANALYZE=PURGE.FDL PURGE.FDL $ CONVERT/FDL=PURGE.FDL 'p1' * NOTE All recordings for the domain historical repository being compressed must be suspended. This restriction will be lifted in a future release. Sam

Hello, Has the Historian purge function changed at all under BMS 1.3? I noticed that the details for compressing the files is no longer in the release notes. Are the historian mir files now automatically compressed following a purge? Ted.
