1978.0. "Accvios using DW interface to DECmcc T1.2.3" by TOMLIN::ROMBERG (some assembly required...) Fri Dec 20 1991 15:10

I'm a new user of DECmcc (and to network management in general), but while
using the windows interface to Show 'stuff' about a node4 entity, I repeatedly
ran into ACCVIOS.

I clicked on my node4 entity and then selected the following Show options.
(all accvios had the same PC and PSL, fwiw)

show characteristics
show references
show identifiers
show initial attributes

Cosby# manage/enter/inter=dec

No input bitmaps found for COLLECTOR
No input bitmaps found for CONCENTRATOR
%Thread 10 terminating with exception:
%SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask=00, virtual address=00000000, PC
=201C0000, PSL=010DADCC
%MCC-E-ABORTCTRLY, image aborted by Ctrl\Y
Cosby#

Show references and show statistics both got me a reserved operand fault.

Cosby# manage/enter/inter=dec

No input bitmaps found for COLLECTOR
No input bitmaps found for CONCENTRATOR
%Thread 10 terminating with exception:
%SYSTEM-F-ROPRAND, reserved operand fault at PC=00000000, PSL=00000000
%MCC-E-ABORTCTRLY, image aborted by Ctrl\Y
Cosby#

The Show Status option produced a message window with the following message:

Message Window Message: software error: an internal error has occurred in
the Iconic Map PM.

The Show Initial Attributes option produced a window that was labeled
'Table Exception for node4 .tomlin' with only the current date in it.

The only Show command that worked was Show Counters!

I then managed to bungle my way around the forms and command line interfaces
and was able to show all of the above items with no problems.

I was running MCC T1.2.3 on a VAXstation 3540 running VMS 5.5, using a local
namespace.
