| What colors are you using?
The lables are always (current restriction) black.
If you have black windows then black on black has less than desirable
contrast.

1911.2 | prob when displaying to ultrix?? | JETSAM::WOODCOCK | | Tue Dec 10 1991 16:08 | 11 |
| Hi all,
I'm also seeing this problem. It doesn't appear to be a color problem. Graph
works for me when I use the work station running MCC, that is, I see all
text involved. When I set display is when I loose the text portions. MCC
itself is running on VMS 5.4-2. The failed text display is seen when displaying
to an Ultrix node using IP transport. Both stations are color. Does this
shed any light to the problem and/or solution??
best regards,

| I have "played" with this from (ultrix,vms) with display set to
(Ultrix,VMS,VT1200) and have not had any problem other than getting the "right"
sets of colours selected. Note that the Ultrix system I have displays
the letters in white, and the axis in black, so I run with a "gray" window that
allows me to see both sets of markings. This part of the graph package really
needs to have some way to set these colours and have real resource names
attached to them. (ala Icons, severitys and lines)

Hi Dave,
I thought I was ok because the VMS system was displaying the text in black
on a white background. I guess I will 'play' with the colors to something
off-white for the background. Thanks for the info.

1911.5 | Not black on black | RDGENG::PRATT | | Mon Dec 16 1991 11:01 | 9 |
| Hi,
I am using red text on a very pale blue background, so I would have thought that
black would show up. I have just pushed a window out to another workstation that
has black text, and I now get the text displayed in the graph window correctly.
Will this restriction be removed in the future, as I don't particularly want to
change my workstation colours.

Apparently, the default is black lines with white text. In my opionion it
doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this is not a good idea...
I am running on a color decstation (ultrix) with the standard screens (white
background) and couldn't figure out why I couldn't see the text. I would
suggest that unless you want LOTS of TSC calls that you consider that many
customers will have a similar configuration as myself (ie plain vanilla
DECwindows).
