1873.1 | Release notes contain the same text | VINO::LUNDGREN | John - NAS System Mgmt - 297-5537 | Thu Dec 05 1991 01:33 | 7 |
| The three release note pointers for the T1.2 Director, BMS, and TK
contain the same text. This text is for the BMS software.
Some of us do actually read release notes before installing
software! :^)

The following is a test to determine whether the DECmcc

At this point it is assumed that you have DECwindows currently

1873.3 | yes, some release notes not ready yet | TOOK::MINTZ | Erik Mintz | Thu Dec 05 1991 07:26 | 11 |
| Glad to hear you are reading :-)
The toolkit release notes are not yet complete. They will
replace the existing placeholder when they are ready.
We don't have a director kit for field test.
We'll probably replace the director and toolkit notes with
short dummy files, to save trees and network bandwidth.

No, we've never seen a test command dump core. I'll transfer your
not to the QAR system, and somebody will probably contact you to
look at the core.

1873.5 | some questions on the mcc 0 problem | TOOK::KOHLS | Ruth Kohls | Thu Dec 05 1991 10:13 | 19 |

>I have a strange problem on one of the two nodes I installed MCC :
>(MIPS machines) ^^^ ^^^
I have to ask the obvious questions--1) How about the other?
2) I notice you said no "major" installation problems (in your reply to
the previous note) were there minor ones? If so, what were they?
3) have you tried "show mcc 0 alarms all char" (or any other mm's self
management)? 4) have you tried deregistering and re-registering mcc 0 in
your namespace?
On the current evidence, it looks to me like the Kernel AM
is not enrolled for some reason. You shouldn't have to enroll it explicitly.
It's a part of the kernel library, linked with every other mm, and is the
first item in the enrollment table.

All is Ok now. I just forgot that I had set a private environment on the
"faulty" machine using an "old" MCC version, and so it was using an old version
of the dispatch table/ dictionnary,...
It works perfect now, sorry to made you loose your time.
Thanks

1873.8 | Invalid lock conversion on enrollment | TOOK::MINTZ | Erik Mintz | Thu Dec 05 1991 14:41 | 55 |
| This note is copied from 1872.8
The invalid lock conversion error is one which we have seen before, and
thought we eliminated. I have re-activated a QAR for it.
Meanwhile, it will not effect the operation of your system.
The enrollment is complete at the time the error occurs.

1873.9 | You're right, the toolkit notes are much shorter thant that! | TOOK::CAREY | | Thu Dec 05 1991 17:31 | 17 |

Oops!
Our apologies. We've been rather rushing about the last several days!
You'll find that the appropriate release notes are out there for the
toolkit:
PPINC::DUA0:[MCC_KITS.MCC_V12_IFT]MCCTKT012.RELEASE_NOTES
Right now, we haven't put together separate director notes, as our
initial focus is on the BMS kit and the toolkit.
Sorry 'bout that.

When I try to copy the Ultrix kit from mccnix (which I assume really is 4.1017)
I get a "No such file or directory" error message when attempting a copy using

Any help appreciated.
