Took 30 minutes to install over top of V1.1 SSB - had my local node

Given that only logged into ULTRIX couple of times, and with
bit of help from novice ULTRIX user, had no problems with
installation. So well done to developers/technical writers.

| I have installed DECmcc EFT V1.2.4 on three different configurations in my
office:
DECstation 3100, 16Meg memory, RZ56 &RZ55, ULTRIX 4.2
This configuration works sslloowwllyy. We should offer this as a
disk exerciser to the people who design our storage system devices.
DECstation 3100, 20Meg memory, RZ56, & RZ55, ULTRIX 4.2
This configuration is still a disk exerciser but the performance has
gone from: too slow to use, to: very usable in my environment. The DEC
IS people have seen an imprompto demo in my office. They will begin
using this product as soon as they can get a platform. That is a very
high endorcement!!
On both of the above configurations, I have had some very strange thread
errors and abnormal thread terminations. DECmcc has crashed a couple of times.
But, this is so much better than V1.1 that I will never go back.
DECstation 3100, 16Meg memory, RZ57, ULTRIX 4.2.a
This configuration is slow again. I am also having problems with the
DECnet phase IV module. The TCP/IP and Station modules run fine. This
may be due to the environment where the system lives, I am not yet
sure. As I get time to investigate further, I will add further

| I currently have version ft 1.2.4 running on a VAX station 3100 VMS
platform with 16MEG an RZ56, and an RZ23. Slow is the way to go...
I am hoping to upgrade memory soon, and hopefully this will improve
performance greatly.

In MKO we are running V1.2.4 on Ultrix 4.2 on a DECstation 5000. Still in the early
stages of development so I have no feel for performance on a 5000... Great product!

Due to our project INTELLIGENT NETWORKS DECmcc V1.2.4 is installed on the
following stations:
INMCC Node-Number 49.377 at FRS
INMCC1 Node-Number 63.632 at FRS (Hidden Area)
INMCC2 Node-Number 63.633 at FRS (Hidden-Area)
UNTMCC Node-Number 63.487 at UNT (Hidden-Area)
GYPSC0 Node-Number 49.131 at UNT
INMCC, INMCC1, INMCC2 and UNTMCC are all VAXstation 3100-M76/SPX with 32 MB
of Memory, while GYPSC0 is a VAX 8550 with 80 MB of Memory.
The location FRS is Frankfurt (Germany) and the location UNT is Munich (Germany)
All the installations has been done by me and haven't cause any problems. DECmcc
is used for managing our applications (via DMS extended agent).

I have all sorts of problems with NODE4 alarms. Threads keep
terminating. And as for MCC_DNA4_EVL...
Also, the Bridge_AM doesn't return the Counter Creation Time
for DECbridge 610's so stats are unavailable.

| I installed DECMCC T1.2.15 for demo purpose on 3100 M38 with 32M
and another installation on customer site on M3100 M76 with 32M
of memory and 3 disks rz24.
No problems during installation just VERY SERIOUS problem with performance
specially in the second installation where we try to monitor a real
network with as start 600 polling for the historian distributed between 5
background process ,20 rules with ERROR_PERCENT calculation and 40 rules
for circuits up/down.

| DECmcc V1.2 BL15 has been installed on a VAX 6520 in DECtown Brussels.
VMS V5.4-3 128 MB in cluster with 6400,6300 and 15 VAXstation satellites.
DECmcc runs mainly on the 6500. I cannot tell on which disk I run
because I am moved regularely. It's a HSC60 one.
Often demo is done with VT1300 or with a Motif window on a satellite.
On each new baselevel I test the GAB AM as soon as possible.
