On page 1.8 of the Planning and Installation for Ultrix manual it states that 
you must have DNPBASE400 installed to manage DECnet objects. What about phaseV?
If I have DNPBASE500 installed will the DECnet PhaseIV AM still work, or will I
be limited to managing phaseV nodes only? The documentation needs to be more
explicit.

You only need DNPBASE400 to manage phase IV entities.

Yes, you can manage phase IV with DNPBASE500 installed.
