My customer wants to use "MultiNet" from TGV, Inc. instead of Digital's "UCX" as the TCP/IP transport for the SNMP AM. Will this work ?

Will this work? Yes. Do we support it (yet)? No. Will we? Hopefully (is being worked on...). s/rob
1845.2 | I *think* you can find it in SNMP V1.1 | TOOK::CAREY | Wed Nov 27 1991 18:07 | 16
Multinet -- I think we've done some testing with it personally. Work was done to include files required to link against the Multinet libraries to use it, and I believe a field test site for SNMP V1.1 actually participated in the testing as well. The SNMP AM V1.1 release notes probably have some information about how to play with it as well. Watch for someone closer to the action on that one to give a detailed answer, but I *think* it is possible with SNMP V1.1, and even described (as in how to...). -Jim
1845.3 | Multinet works | BSYBEE::EGOLF | John C. Egolf LKG2-2/T02 x226-7874 | Wed Nov 27 1991 19:52 | 10 |
.1 was right on. We've tested with TGV's Multinet and it does work, the problem is that "technically" for the V1.1 SNMP AM, it isn't supported (ie. if you have a problem, don't call us). For V1.2, we'd like to support Multinet, Fusion, and Wollongong, UCX runtime only, as well as UCX full kit. JCE
1845.4 | Does V1.2 support TGV? | DPDMAI::DAVIES | Mark, SCA Area Network Consultant | Mon Sep 28 1992 16:09 | 8 |
DECmcc V1.2 is out and shipping. So the questions is: Is TGV's Multinet supported with DECmcc? Thanks, Mark |
