1820.0. "%MCC-E-PARENT- parent entity does not exist" by USTICA::ODOARDI () Fri Nov 15 1991 11:06

	Hello,

	I've this problem:

a domain ("gozzano") that contains different sub-domain (like "piano1",
	"piano2", "netlab").

When I enter in "piano1" with enable notification, I can see all
the entities and I can do all my proof.

When I enter in "netlab" with enable notification, I receive this
message : "NOTIFICATION STRUCTURES MAY BE CORRUPTED. PLEASE
DISABLE NOTIFICATION", so I can return in "gozzano" and disable
notification, after I can go in "netlab" and I can see the entities.

Now, I decided to deregister "netlab" and re-created it for not
	see the error message:

	1) Deregister, by using the toolbox, domain "netlab" (with its entities)

	2) After awhile all the windows disapper, so I can stop MCC
	   (CTR-Y)

	3) Restart MCC

	4) If I register an entity (for example a node4) in domain "gozzano"
	   all it's OK.

	5) When I try to create another domain in "gozzano" (i.e.
"laboratorio") I always receive this message:
"%MCC-E-PARENT- parent entity does not exist"

Following are some shows I issued afterwards:

MCC> show obj laboratorio, in domain gozzano
(it's ok, and I can see the registration)

	DNS> show obj laboratorio
(I can see all attributes, except for MCC_DOMAIN_LIST)

DNS> show obj gozzano attr MCC_DOMAIN_LIST
(I see that it has 2 backlink: one with the previous domain
and one with another domain that doesn't exist).

	What's happening ??

	I use DECmcc BMS 1.1

	Thanks in advance.

There are a number of 1.1 problems in this area that have been
discussed in this conference. One is the need for the dummy entity in
the domain so that the last member is not another domain, and another
was the fact that the iconic map didn't always deal well with rules
already being enabled prior to opening the mpa (the structures could
get corrupted if a rule fired in the domain before the structures were
    completly initialized).

check the alarms, notification, and iconic_map keywords for more
    information on these subjects.
