1799.0. "Updating Dictionary & Parse tables corrupts MCC." by KERNEL::OSBORNE () Tue Nov 12 1991 10:28

I am using MCC BMS V1.1 and VMS 5.4-2 and have just installed the SNMP
AM V1.1.0 and the CHAR and RS232 MIBs. Since installing the MIBs I am
getting some very strange results out of MCC.

The latest problem I have is generated by using the Windows interface
and using the option for use last saved settings, I get the following
window up with this error;

[_XInputArrival - input buffer pointer not empty during processing]
[               - state: 2   flags: 0  stopDepth: 0]
%SYSTEM-F-BADPARAM, bad parameter value

The Domain window then goes away!.

Any ideas or suggestions?. I am loathed to reinstal MCC.

Dave.

Frequently this error message is due to sysgen parameters being wrong,
especially PQL_MASTLM. If it is not at least 600, bump it to 600.

If this does not help, please give more details as to what you were doing
when this occurred.

1799.2Value was <600.KERNEL::OSBORNEWed Nov 13 1991 11:006
errr Well the PQL_MASTLM value was 100, so I'll inflate it to 600. If I
still have problems I will let you know. Should this really be a prereq
parameter value or am I being a poor System Manager?.

Thanks for your help
Dave.
1799.3Try AUDIT_MCC.COMDUNDEE::CLEARYA deviant having fun..."Wed Nov 13 1991 19:3211
There is a pointer in this conference to a command procedure called
AUDIT_MCC which will check your process quotas and sysgen parameters
and tell you where you have gone wrong. I found that it is extremely
useful. It isn't available to customer, of course. Get your copy from
NSSG::SYS$PUBLIC:[MCC.S-KIT].

One thing to watch is PGFLQUO which should be greater than 50,000 and
smaller than your pagefile space. Running lots of alarms seems to need
it and you get blown away abruptly if it's not right.

NSSG is going away this week, so ask Rob Spence (NETS::R_SPENCE) where the new
kit location is.
